This project was an illustrated cover for a collection of short stories by Gabriel García Márquez titled Artificial Roses. I also illustrated three title pages for some of the stories. The cover depicts a hooded figure looking over a small village. I choose this image for the cover because a common theme among

the stories is death, so I wanted to represent that on the cover with the hooded figure. The title pages each illustrate a scene or object in the stories. I choose the dark blue and yellow color theme because the contrast was striking and interesting, and I thought the limited color palette would further unify the pieces.
